We fell in love with the raw, industrial designs featured in Ascend Design’s portfolio and decided to give them a shot. Ren Hao, our interior designer sat down with us got our aesthetic considerations and household needs. His floor plan of our house was bold and a re-imagination of the living space. We immediately fell in love with it!
I believe that Ren Hao went above and beyond his duties as an interior designer, so much so that perhaps “Renovation Coordinator” would be more accurate title to confer on him because he takes on so much more than just the design of the home.
Fantastic Service and Design
I first met Jasper and Agnes a year ago but some changes in plan did not allow for me to proceed with the home renovation. When I got my new resale condo with my husband I immediately contacted them again because I remembered their great service and their eye for detailing. It is like they took note of the things I said with much thoughts and it is well reflected in the design.
It was quite different from what the other IDs proposed and they focus quite abit on details which makes a lot of difference in my opinion.
The whole renovation process was a nightmare because it seems like there were issues popping up everywhere as it was an old place but jasper and Agnes were quite quick to solve them. I think mainly it is important to trust that your ID can give you a good job since I’m not an expert and the end result is just as what I wanted. Thank you Ascend!
+82 Korean Cafe
We engaged the IDs via a personal contact before the lease was firmed up and they were great with advice on the location and negotiation terms since they have experience in it. They were involved in the planning of the layout and recommendations of design and materials used based on our mood board. As it was co owned by an Korean idol we had to Ensure that the space was event friendly as well and this was achieved while retaining the cafe look we envisioned. The quality of the workmanship is very good too, the cafe has been running for more than a year and the condition is still great.
Cozy Industrial Studio
Ascend Designs helped me to renovate my first studio. The ID was friendly and patient with me and was able to understand the creative direction that I had in mind. He also took the initiative to do quality checks and call the workers back to ensure that the workmanship was good. It was hard to find someone who understood the concept behind a unique space like my studio. However, working with a young ID who was able to both understand the vision and execute it was such a pleasant experience for me and my team.
Great design, good project management!
I was introduced to Ren Hao after talking to other few IDs and I was happy to know how he understood the design I envisioned my place to be.It started off with the conceptualization of the space, along with sharing the mood board and color/tones/textures that would go well with design I had in mind. Ren Hao value-added by sharing what designs would accentuate each space and things that I should/should not go with. The material selection process was an enjoyable process as Ren Hao had choices already in mind that were reasonably priced and of good quality.
Once the renovation commenced, Ren Hao kept me updated with the progress as I was working and was not able to supervise the project. He shared options with me and gave suggestions so that it was within my budget. Though there were some hiccups and delays along the way, Ren Hao was quick to resolve the issues. The carpentry and laminates were of good quality and the island table turn out exactly what I had in mind.

Our dream home
Thanks Jasper and Yuxuan for turning our dream home into reality. After explaining to them what we had in mind in our first meeting, they are able to show us the mood board which was exactly what we wanted. They pay attention to details and are creative at the same time. We did not have to worry about the colours and materials.
For most home owners, I believe tiles selection is one of the most time consuming process due to the sheer number of tiles displayed at the showroom but for us the process is fuss free thanks to Jasper and Yuxuan’s spot on recommendation. We appreciate their hard work and we will definitely recommend them. Thanks Jasper and Yuxuan.
Dream home came alive
My husband and I chanced upon Ascend Design on Instagram and were immediately drawn to their aesthetics. We met one of their IDs Audrey who we felt truly understood what we wanted. Audrey introduced design concepts and came up with a mood board that was really everything we envisioned our dream house to be. So much so that we signed on with Ascend the very same day she gave us the quotation!
Throughout the renovation, Audrey was friendly, responsible and accountable. She was swift in rectifying issues that cropped up. We had a very tight timeline and Audrey managed to finish our renovation within the given time frame. Thank you Audrey for bringing our dream home to life!!
Absolutely Thankful
We already had a contractor for our store but he was messing up the plans for 2 months without going anywhere and we happened to be introduced to Ascend so we decided to make a switch after seeing their portfolio.
The entire journey has been nothing but great. Ascend helped us with our branding, design, marketing and even giving business ideas and advice! We would say that they are definitely more than what a normal ID is and we’ve received so much praise for the store interior and brand so far.
We’ve even expanded to our second store in less than 3 months and no points for guessing who is designing that as well! It’s going to open tmr and so far everything is tip top. Highly recommended for businesses that don’t want to be carrots.
Value for money and design
My husband and I engaged Ascend Design after looking through 8 IDs because we really liked the design that Jasper gave us. We could tell that he was more of a designer than a sales person compared to others we met. The pricing isn’t the cheapest we got but it was value for money because we don’t want to save on our renovation and get something horrible… the whole process took about 9 weeks and jasper was meticulous in picking out the colours and materials for our house. Overall we really enjoyed the journey and we want to thank Ascend for our beautiful home
Telescope Studios Renovation
A friend of ours recommended Ascend Design and we had such a great experience working with Ascend Design. We just moved in to a 1600 sqft studio office and wanted to make the place look aesthetic yet functional, thankfully we managed to achieve what we wanted. The project manager is very responsive and prompt with his replies every time we have any questions. The designer knows exactly what he’s doing and through his suggestions, the studio turned out even better than what we originally had in mind. Strongly recommend Ascend Design to those of you who need help doing any renovation works!
